How to sell home appliances on Kaspi: TR CU 004/2011 and 020/2011 certificates, brands, heavy-order delivery and pricing

Kaspi doesn't require separate permission for the «Бытовая техника» (Home appliances) category; it's not on the list of restricted categories. On the other hand, almost every household appliance is certified under two regulations at once: TR CU 004/2011 on electrical safety and TR CU 020/2011 on electromagnetic compatibility. If the brand is on the restricted list, Kaspi will ask for purchase documents. A 65 kg washing machine travels to Aktobe for 9,917 ₸ including VAT, and a kettle priced at 10,200 ₸ earns you less than one at 9,990 ₸. The commission is 12.5% including VAT. Below is a step-by-step breakdown with the math.

In short

  • Kaspi doesn't require permission for the «Бытовая техника» category, but restricted brands are checked separately.
  • Kitchen appliances, washing machines, vacuum cleaners, heaters and hair dryers are certified under TR CU 004/2011 and TR CU 020/2011.
  • Appliances bought on the brand's official website won't get you brand permission.
  • Delivering a 60–100 kg order costs 4,149 ₸ excluding VAT within the city and 8,549 ₸ within Kazakhstan.
  • The commission is 10.9% excluding VAT and 12.5% including VAT.

Step 1. Permissions: category and brand

The Kaspi Guide (Kaspi's official help center) has a list of categories you can't enter without permission: children's goods, pharmacy, sports and tourism, beauty and health, pets, jewelry, motor vehicles and a few more (q2224, updated Oct 5, 2026). Home appliances aren't among them. You can start creating listings right away.

Brands are stricter. Major appliance makers are often on the list of restricted brands, and then Kaspi asks for an information letter from the official supplier, a contract, waybills and payment documents for the last 90 days, plus a purchase of at least 10 units of the brand (q2618, updated Jul 10, 2026). If you buy through an intermediary, you'll need letters covering the whole chain.

There's a trap that sellers find out about too late. Usually goods bought on a brand's official website also qualify: you need electronic receipts in the director's name, at least 10 units, no older than 60 days, plus a bank statement and transport documents. But for the «Бытовая техника», «Телефоны и гаджеты» (Phones and gadgets), «ТВ, Аудио, Видео» (TV, audio, video), «Компьютеры» (Computers) and «Красота и здоровье» (Beauty and health) sections this route is closed. If you bought a batch of hair dryers on the manufacturer's website, you won't get brand permission. How the check works is covered in the article on brand restrictions on Kaspi.

Step 2. Certificate or declaration

220 V household appliances fall under TR CU 004/2011 «О безопасности низковольтного оборудования» (On the safety of low-voltage equipment) (TR CU 004/2011). It has applied since Feb 15, 2013 and covers equipment rated from 50 to 1000 V AC. Article 7 splits products into two groups: whatever is on the list in the annex gets certified, everything else gets declared.

TR CU 020/2011 «Электромагнитная совместимость технических средств» (Electromagnetic compatibility of technical equipment) works in parallel (TR CU 020/2011). Its certification list almost repeats the first one. So in practice a kettle usually has a single certificate that names both regulations.

What you sell TR CU 004/2011 TR CU 020/2011
Kettles, multicookers, refrigerators, blenders Certificate Certificate
Washing machines, irons, dryers Certificate Certificate
Vacuum cleaners, including stick vacuums Certificate Certificate
Heaters, fans, humidifiers Certificate Certificate
Hair dryers, curling irons, hair clippers Certificate Certificate
Chargers, power supplies Certificate Certificate
An appliance not on the lists Declaration Declaration

The certificate is issued by an accredited body from the EAEU unified register. For mass-produced appliances it's issued under scheme 1c, and samples are submitted by the manufacturer or its authorized representative. A batch imported from abroad is certified under scheme 3c, and here the importer submits the samples. If you buy from a distributor, ask for a copy of their certificate along with the waybill.

Before you buy, ask the supplier for the certificate number and check that it lists your exact model, not a similar one. The same kettle series can have two models with different power ratings, and the certificate covers only one of them.

Labeling and instructions

Article 5 of TR CU 004/2011 requires labeling and operating documents to be in Russian and in the state language of the country where the product is sold. For Kazakhstan that's Kazakh. A Chinese manual without a translation gives the buyer grounds for a complaint and causes problems during an inspection. The EAC mark must appear on the body or the packaging. More on mandatory markings is in the article on product labeling for Kaspi.

Step 3. The appliance listing

Appliance buyers compare numbers. Power in watts, capacity in liters, energy efficiency class, noise level, built-in dimensions. If a spec is in the category filter and you left it blank, your product drops out of the filtered results. Kaspi uses the main specifications to match your product with the right product card (one shared listing with all sellers) (q3554, updated Feb 23, 2026).

Colors of one model are usually merged into one card, but it's better not to mix different power ratings or capacities: those are different products at different prices (q5146, updated Jul 23, 2026). Used appliances can't be sold on Kaspi; this is spelled out on the list of prohibited goods (q3904, updated Jan 16, 2026). A display model without a box also raises questions.

Shoot photos on a white background, with separate shots of the control panel and what's in the box. How to do it with a phone is in the article on product photos for Kaspi, and the general process is in the article on how to create a product card on Kaspi.

Step 4. Delivery: large appliances and the 10,000 ₸ threshold

For orders of 10,000 ₸ or more, Kaspi Delivery tariffs depend on weight (q2288, updated Jun 16, 2026). Prices exclude VAT.

Order weight Within the city Within Kazakhstan Express
up to 5 kg 1,099 ₸ 1,299 ₸ 1,699 ₸
5–15 kg 1,349 ₸ 1,699 ₸ 1,849 ₸
15–30 kg 2,299 ₸ 3,599 ₸ 3,149 ₸
30–60 kg 2,899 ₸ 5,649 ₸ 3,599 ₸
60–100 kg 4,149 ₸ 8,549 ₸ 5,599 ₸
over 100 kg 6,449 ₸ 11,999 ₸ 8,449 ₸

For orders under 10,000 ₸, weight doesn't matter: up to 1,000 ₸ it's 49 ₸, from 1,000 to 3,000 ₸ it's 149 ₸, from 3,000 to 5,000 ₸ it's 199 ₸, and from 5,000 to 10,000 ₸ it's 699 ₸ within the city and 799 ₸ within Kazakhstan. VAT is added when the fee is charged, and the fee is charged only after the order becomes «Выдан» ("Issued").

Why a 10,200 ₸ kettle is worse than a 9,990 ₸ one

Take a light appliance under 5 kg and work out what's left after the commission and city delivery, before the purchase cost.

Price Commission 12.5% Delivery incl. VAT Left before purchase cost
9,990 ₸ 1,249 ₸ 811 ₸ 7,930 ₸
10,200 ₸ 1,275 ₸ 1,275 ₸ 7,650 ₸

You raised the price by 210 ₸ and got 280 ₸ less. You only come out ahead of 9,990 ₸ from 10,521 ₸ within the city and from 10,653 ₸ within Kazakhstan. For small appliances, prices from 10,000 to roughly 10,500 ₸ are a dead zone. If competitors sit there, it sometimes makes more sense to stay just under 10,000 ₸.

Packaging and damage

The Kaspi Guide lists packaging requirements by category, and for appliances it's worth opening them before your first shipment: if the item is packed incorrectly, you can be refused compensation for damage (q2296, updated Nov 5, 2025). The factory box with its original inserts is the minimum; without it, better not to hand over a refrigerator. If the weight or dimensions don't suit the drop-off point, the item won't be accepted, and that's worth checking before you sell your first refrigerator (q3047, updated Jan 22, 2026).

If a washing machine arrives dented, file a claim within 10 calendar days within the city and 45 within Kazakhstan. Without a damage note in the return certificate, the deadline is 24 hours (q2306, updated Nov 25, 2025). You need dated photos or video. Compensation is 10%, 30% or 100%, depending on what was damaged: the packaging, the side panels or the front panel. More in the articles on packaging for Kaspi Delivery and Kaspi Delivery for sellers.

Step 5. Warranty returns

With appliances, get ready above all for returns over defects. A buyer can return a product of proper quality within 14 days if it hasn't been used. Defective goods have different deadlines: 30 days, or the manufacturer's warranty period if there is one (q2269, updated Sep 21, 2026). The legal basis is Article 30 of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan «О защите прав потребителей» (On consumer protection).

A coffee machine may carry a one- or two-year warranty. For that entire time the buyer is entitled to come back with a defect. So agree with your supplier in advance who takes back defective units and which service center they go to. Otherwise the defect stays entirely on you. What to do with the return itself is described in the article on returns on Kaspi for sellers.

12- and 24-month installments are available for home appliances: they're not on Kaspi's list of exceptions (q4659, updated Jun 9, 2026). Check the seller terms and cost of installments in your seller cabinet before enabling them on expensive models. How to calculate this is covered in the article on 0-0-24 installments on Kaspi for sellers (0%, no down payment, 24 months).

Commission and calculating the minimum price

Under the 2026 tariffs, the «Бытовая техника» section is charged 10.9% excluding VAT and 12.5% including VAT (Tariffs 2026, PDF). If an order is cancelled, the commission is refunded (q1344, updated Jan 6, 2026).

Let's price a washing machine. This is a hypothetical example, not a client case. Price 189,000 ₸, weight with packaging 65 kg, purchase cost 140,000 ₸, shipped in the factory box. Delivery for 60–100 kg: 4,149 ₸ within the city, 4,813 ₸ with VAT; 8,549 ₸ within Kazakhstan, 9,917 ₸ with VAT.

Item Within the city Within Kazakhstan
Price 189,000 ₸ 189,000 ₸
Commission 12.5% incl. VAT 23,625 ₸ 23,625 ₸
Purchase cost 140,000 ₸ 140,000 ₸
Delivery incl. VAT 4,813 ₸ 9,917 ₸
Left from the sale 20,562 ₸ 15,458 ₸

Minimum price = (Purchase cost + Delivery + Packaging) ÷ (1 − Commission incl. VAT)

Packaging is zero here. Within the city: (140,000 + 4,813) ÷ 0.875 ≈ 165,501 ₸. Within Kazakhstan: (140,000 + 9,917) ÷ 0.875 ≈ 171,334 ₸. Below that figure, every sale to another city loses money. The heavier the appliance, the further apart the two minimum prices drift, so for refrigerators and washing machines the floor is set using the intercity tariff. How to account for other costs is covered in the article on how not to sell at a loss on Kaspi.

Common mistakes when selling home appliances on Kaspi

  1. Buying on the brand's official website. For home appliances, such a purchase doesn't give you permission for a restricted brand.
  2. A declaration instead of a certificate. Kitchen appliances, vacuum cleaners and hair dryers are on the certification lists.
  3. A certificate for a neighboring model. The model number in the document must match the product.
  4. Instructions only in Russian or Chinese. You also need Kazakh.
  5. A price just above 10,000 ₸ for a light appliance. Delivery eats the increase.
  6. A minimum price based on the city tariff. A heavy order to another city ends up in the red.
  7. No agreement on warranty defects. The return comes a year later, and the supplier no longer answers.

How to automate prices and avoid selling at a loss

In appliances, dozens of stores sell the same model, and first place on the card can change hands several times an hour. The SaleScout Kaspi bot checks prices every 20 seconds, keeps you at the top of the card and never drops below the minimum price you set. When a competitor raises their price, the bot raises yours too. SaleScout niche analytics shows which models people buy before you order a batch. You can try the bot free for 7 days, no card required. How dumping works on the card is explained in the article on dumping on Kaspi.

Frequently asked questions about selling home appliances on Kaspi

Do you need permission to sell home appliances on Kaspi?

Not for the category; appliances aren't on the list of restricted categories. Questions start when the brand is on the restricted list: then they ask for a supplier letter, a contract and a purchase of at least 10 units with papers no older than 90 days.

Can you get brand permission if you bought the appliances on the official website?

Not for appliances. Kaspi closed this route for «Бытовая техника», phones, TV and audio, computers and the «Красота и здоровье» section. You'll have to find an official supplier.

Which document do home appliances need: a certificate or a declaration?

A kettle, refrigerator, washing machine, vacuum cleaner, hair dryer, heater — all of these are certified, and under both TR CU 004/2011 and TR CU 020/2011 at once. A declaration is enough only for appliances that aren't on the lists.

What language should the manual be in?

Russian and Kazakh. A Chinese booklet with pictures won't do, even if everything in it is clear.

How much does it cost to deliver a washing machine through Kaspi?

A 65 kg machine falls into the 60–100 kg bracket. Within the city that's 4,149 ₸, to another city 8,549 ₸, plus VAT on top: that comes to 4,813 ₸ and 9,917 ₸.

Why shouldn't you set the price just above 10,000 ₸?

Because from 10,000 ₸ delivery goes up from 699 ₸ to 1,099 ₸ excluding VAT. On a kettle within the city, a 10,200 ₸ price leaves you 280 ₸ less than 9,990 ₸.

How long does the buyer have to return a defective appliance?

A month, or the full warranty period if the manufacturer offers one. An intact product that hasn't been used can be returned within 14 days.

What is Kaspi's commission on home appliances?

12.5% including VAT, or 10.9% without it. One rate for the whole section, from hair dryers to refrigerators.
