A mug with a name, a cup for the coach, a box of chocolates with a bow — on Kaspi all of this sits in «Подарки, товары для праздников» (Gifts, party goods). The commission is 12.5% with VAT, and most of the section needs no permission. The exception is party poppers and fireworks: these are restricted categories, and fireworks also need a licence. Brands are more interesting. The restricted list includes Sima-land, which many souvenir stores buy from, and next to it LEGO, Disney, Swarovski, PANDORA and MONTBLANC. And money is most often lost on small items around 5,000 ₸. We did the math: a mug at 5,500 ₸ with delivery to the regions leaves less than at 4,900 ₸.
In short
- One rate for the whole section — 12.5% with VAT, or 10.9% if you're not a VAT payer.
- Party poppers and fireworks can't be sold without a permission, and for fireworks Kaspi will ask for a licence.
- Before buying Sima-land, LEGO, Disney, Swarovski, PANDORA or MONTBLANC, prepare the brand documents.
- "Souvenir weapons" exists as a subcategory, but brass knuckles labelled "souvenir" are still prohibited.
- While an order is under 10,000 ₸, weight doesn't matter: a souvenir travels for 57–231 ₸.
What the «Подарки» section includes on Kaspi

The category restrictions come from the list (PDF). We wrote separately about Christmas trees, garlands and New Year decor — New Year goods on Kaspi.
Party poppers and fireworks
Kaspi put party poppers in one subcategory with photo zones. We see people trip over this: a store sets up "everything for a party", and half the items turn out to need a permission.
For fireworks Kaspi lists the documents (q2224, updated Oct 5, 2026): a licence for storing and selling pyrotechnics, a supply contract or a contract with the manufacturer, an EAC certificate and declaration of conformity depending on legal requirements, an invoice and payment documents. Without a pyrotechnics licence this part of the range is closed.
We didn't find coloured smoke and sky lanterns on the restricted list. But the list of goods that can't be sent with Kaspi Delivery has a general addendum about explosive goods (PDF). What exactly falls under it, besides lighters, some aerosols and flammable liquids, Kaspi doesn't list. We'd first send smoke bombs as a single order and see how the drop-off point accepts it.
What can't be sold in the gift niche
The Kaspi list of prohibited goods hits gifts harder than it seems (q3904, updated Jan 16, 2026).
Souvenir weapons
The subcategory is literally called that, and souvenir sabres and daggers are sold in it. At the same time Kaspi prohibits weapons and items structurally similar to them and names examples directly — brass knuckles and telescopic batons. The way we read it: "souvenir" in the name doesn't help if the item can hit as hard as a real one. A sharpened knife in a gift case is questionable too. If in doubt, better check with support before buying.
18+, captions and symbols
Anything marked 18+ is out, even if it's "just a joke". Swearing, prohibited symbols and pictures that someone may find offensive are banned too. For those who print on mugs and T-shirts the conclusion is simple: read the customer's text before it gets on the item. The card and the store are yours, and you're the one who answers for it.
Three more items
- Kaspi treats subscriptions and activation keys as digital goods and doesn't allow them. A subscription code inside a gift set is the same story.
- You can't sell goods intended for free distribution, for example cosmetics samples. A set assembled from samples is a bad idea.
- Smoking goods are prohibited. Gift sets with a hookah or smoking accessories don't fit here.

Brands: Sima-land and others
In the list on Nov 4, 2026 we found Sima-land, LEGO, Disney, Swarovski, PANDORA, MONTBLANC, as well as Ajour Flowers and Azalea Flowers. Parker and Zippo are not in this version.
Many people learn about Sima-land when the card can no longer be created. Almost all souvenir stores buy packaging, magnets and small items from it, and the brand is on the list. Documents for a restricted brand are accepted as follows (q2618, updated Jul 10, 2026): a rights holder letter, a purchase contract, invoices and payment for 90 days, or a purchase on the brand's official website with receipts in the name of the company head no older than 60 days. In both cases at least 10 units per brand. Gift sets with LEGO or Disney inside also need a permission for those brands.
The math: a magnet, a mug, gift wrap, a set, a trophy
A hypothetical example, not a client case. Purchase and selling prices are made up, taxes are not included. Delivery is based on Kaspi tariffs from Jan 1, 2026 with 16% VAT (q2288, updated Jun 16, 2026). Up to 10,000 ₸ delivery depends on the order total: up to 1,000 ₸ — 57 ₸, 1,000–3,000 ₸ — 173 ₸, 3,000–5,000 ₸ — 231 ₸, 5,000–10,000 ₸ — 811 ₸ within the city and 927 ₸ to another city.
| Product | Weight | Destination | Price | 12.5% commission | Purchase | Packaging | Delivery | Left |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Magnet | light | any | 990 ₸ | 124 ₸ | 400 ₸ | 30 ₸ | 57 ₸ | 379 ₸ |
| Magnet | light | any | 1,200 ₸ | 150 ₸ | 400 ₸ | 30 ₸ | 173 ₸ | 447 ₸ |
| Gift box | light | any | 2,900 ₸ | 362 ₸ | 1,100 ₸ | 50 ₸ | 173 ₸ | 1,215 ₸ |
| Personalised mug | light | any | 4,900 ₸ | 612 ₸ | 2,200 ₸ | 200 ₸ | 231 ₸ | 1,657 ₸ |
| Personalised mug | light | another city | 5,500 ₸ | 688 ₸ | 2,200 ₸ | 200 ₸ | 927 ₸ | 1,485 ₸ |
| Photo album | up to 5 kg | another city | 9,500 ₸ | 1,188 ₸ | 5,200 ₸ | 200 ₸ | 927 ₸ | 1,985 ₸ |
| Photo album | up to 5 kg | another city | 10,500 ₸ | 1,312 ₸ | 5,200 ₸ | 200 ₸ | 1,507 ₸ | 2,281 ₸ |
| Gift set | up to 5 kg | same city | 15,000 ₸ | 1,875 ₸ | 9,000 ₸ | 500 ₸ | 1,275 ₸ | 2,350 ₸ |
| Gift set | up to 5 kg | another city | 15,000 ₸ | 1,875 ₸ | 9,000 ₸ | 500 ₸ | 1,507 ₸ | 2,118 ₸ |
| Engraved trophy | up to 5 kg | another city | 22,000 ₸ | 2,750 ₸ | 13,000 ₸ | 400 ₸ | 1,507 ₸ | 4,343 ₸ |
The minimum price: (purchase + delivery + packaging) ÷ (1 − rate). A gift set to another city: (9,000 + 1,507 + 500) ÷ 0.875 ≈ 12,579 ₸. A personalised mug to another city: (2,200 + 927 + 200) ÷ 0.875 ≈ 3,802 ₸.
The mug and the 5,000 ₸ line
Take the mug. At 4,900 ₸ delivery is 231 ₸, and 1,657 ₸ is left in hand. Added 600 ₸ to the price, sent it to another city — delivery is 927 ₸, and 1,485 ₸ is left. Minus 172 ₸ for making the mug more expensive. Personalised gifts usually cost 3–7 thousand, so almost everything falls under this line.
The photo album and the 10,000 ₸ line
Here the picture is different. A photo album at 9,500 ₸ leaves 1,985 ₸, at 10,500 ₸ it leaves 2,281 ₸. A 1,000 ₸ markup covered the 580 ₸ increase in delivery. The threshold doesn't always work against you: if the price step is bigger than the delivery difference, crossing it pays off. Each item has to be calculated.
Magnets and small items
With magnets the 1,000 ₸ threshold hardly matters: 57 ₸ or 173 ₸ of delivery, and a magnet at 1,200 ₸ still brings 68 ₸ more than at 990 ₸. The trouble with small items is something else — commission and packaging take a noticeable bite out of every thousand. A set of three to five magnets in one box solves this better than playing with the price.
Gift wrap as a separate product
Kaspi keeps boxes, bags, bows and paper as separate subcategories, with the same rate. We like this: the buyer adds a box and a card to a set, and the receipt grows. If the order is already above 10,000 ₸ and under 5 kg, delivery doesn't change.
Just remember the line. A set at 9,400 ₸ plus a box at 900 ₸ is already 10,300 ₸, and delivery to the regions is charged by weight: 1,507 ₸ instead of 927 ₸. On a cheap box you'll lose more than you earn on it. We'd check which product combinations buyers take most often and calculate each one.
Corporate orders
Towards the end of the year companies buy gifts for employees by the dozen. A big order of 30 sets weighs more than 15 kg, and the tariff changes. If there are several boxes, pack each separately with its own waybill and specify the number of pieces (q3043, updated Aug 22, 2024).
Personalised gifts, lead times and returns
A personalised gift is made after the order, and that takes time. If production takes several days, see how pre-orders work on Kaspi — pre-orders on Kaspi. The seller can't extend the delivery time without the buyer's consent (clause 2.2 of the terms of work, updated Sep 30, 2026).
Returns in this niche are trickier than they seem. Kaspi gives the buyer 14 days to return a product of proper quality in presentable condition and 30 days to return a defective one (q2269, updated Sep 21, 2026). The store can't refuse a return within these periods (clause 4.3 of q1342). These Kaspi answers have no separate exception for personalised goods. A mug with someone else's name is hard to resell, so we'd agree the mock-up with the buyer in the chat before printing and keep the conversation. How the chat works — in the article chat with buyers on Kaspi.
One more thing: additional services can't be included in the product price (clause 7.1 of q1342). Engraving that is the product itself is fine. But "courier delivery to the door in gift wrap" as a paid service inside the price is not.
Common mistakes in selling gifts on Kaspi
- Party poppers in a "party" set. It's a restricted category and can't be sold without a permission.
- Sima-land magnets and gift wrap without documents. The brand is restricted, and that applies even to small items.
- "Souvenir" brass knuckles. Kaspi prohibits items similar to weapons, and the "souvenir weapons" subcategory doesn't cover them.
- Printing a caption the buyer sent without checking it. Swearing and insults are prohibited, and the store answers for it.
- A mug at 5,500 ₸ instead of 4,900 ₸. To the regions you get 172 ₸ less.
- A gift set with samples or a subscription code. Both are prohibited.
- A personalised gift without an agreed mock-up. The buyer returns it, and an item with someone else's name can't be resold.
Checklist before the holidays
Gifts sell in waves: New Year, March 8, Nauryz, graduations. We'd go through this list a month before each wave.
- [ ] Party poppers, fireworks and sparklers — either there's a permission or they're not in the range.
- [ ] Every brand, including the packaging supplier, checked against the restricted list.
- [ ] Souvenir weapons checked: nothing resembling brass knuckles, batons or sharpened knives.
- [ ] Joke gifts — no 18+, swearing or offensive pictures.
- [ ] Items around 5,000 and 10,000 ₸ recalculated on both sides of the threshold.
- [ ] The minimum price calculated with delivery to another city.
- [ ] Personalised gifts have a template for agreeing the mock-up in the chat.

How to automate prices on gifts
Two weeks before a holiday the card of a popular gift set gets crowded, and the price changes several times an evening. The SaleScout Kaspi bot checks prices from 20 seconds and never goes below the minimum price you set. For souvenirs around 5,000 ₸ set it with delivery to another city in mind, then the bot won't hold the top spot at a price where an order to the regions brings almost nothing. When a competitor raises their price or leaves the card, the bot raises yours too. You can try the bot for 7 days free, no card needed.
Frequently asked questions about selling gifts and souvenirs on Kaspi
What commission does Kaspi charge on gifts and souvenirs?
As almost everywhere in this section: 12.5% with VAT, 10.9% without. Sets, mugs, trophies, gift wrap, flowers — one rate.
Do I need a permission to sell party poppers on Kaspi?
Yes. Party poppers, fireworks and sparklers are on the restricted categories list. For fireworks Kaspi also asks for a licence to store and sell pyrotechnics.
Can I sell souvenir weapons on Kaspi?
The subcategory exists, but items structurally similar to weapons are prohibited. Kaspi gives brass knuckles and telescopic batons as examples.
Do I need a permission for Sima-land goods?
Yes, Sima-land is on the restricted brands list. You'll need documents from the rights holder or receipts from the official website, at least 10 units.
Can a buyer return a personalised gift?
The Kaspi answers on returns have no separate exception for personalised goods: 14 days to return in presentable condition. So it's better to agree the mock-up in the chat before production.
Why does a mug at 5,500 ₸ bring less than at 4,900 ₸?
Because of delivery. Below 5,000 ₸ it costs 231 ₸, and from 5,000 ₸ to another city it's 927 ₸. A 600 ₸ markup doesn't cover that, and 172 ₸ less is left.
How do I calculate the minimum price for a gift set?
Add up the purchase price, delivery and packaging and divide by 0.875. For a set with a purchase price of 9,000 ₸ to another city: (9,000 + 1,507 + 500) ÷ 0.875 ≈ 12,579 ₸.
