Generators on Kaspi sell at a 12.5% rate with VAT, but the niche has three catches. Kaspi Delivery doesn't accept diesel generator sets at all. The best-selling brands, Fubag, Huter and Hyundai among them, are on the restricted brands list, and without permission you can't create a card for them. And a 96 kg petrol generator that the buyer adds a wheel kit to jumps over the 100 kg threshold and costs 4,002 ₸ more to ship to another region.

Where generators sit and how much Kaspi takes
The word "generator" appears in five different places in the 2026 tariffs (2026 tariffs, PDF), so it's easy to pick the wrong section.

The rate is the same everywhere, which is convenient. The section still matters, though: a buyer looks for a dacha generator among garden machinery and for a diesel set for a building site among construction equipment. Put them in the wrong place and the card is simply seen less often.

What Kaspi Delivery won't carry
The document on goods that cannot be sent via Kaspi Delivery (PDF) lists two items from this niche: diesel generator sets and solar panels. Petrol and inverter generators are not on the list, so they can be shipped.
Diesel sets are easy to understand: a stationary 10 kW set weighs close to 200 kg. There is, however, a general rule at the end of the document: the restrictions may also apply to other goods if they are heavier than 250 kg, longer than 3 metres, or count as explosive or flammable liquids. So a light portable diesel model that looks like a petrol one can't go via Kaspi Delivery either. What matters is the subcategory on the card, not the weight.
An empty tank and packaging that can be opened
Kaspi's packaging instructions (PDF) put it plainly: fuel tanks and systems must be empty, with no petrol, diesel or other flammable liquids. Goods with fuel tanks are packed so they can be unpacked and inspected at the drop-off point.
In practice, a generator you test-ran at the warehouse has to be drained completely before shipping, carburettor included. At the drop-off point the box may be opened and checked, and with fuel left inside the shipment will be refused. Think about the packaging at the same time: nobody at the counter is going to take apart a wooden crate that needs a screwdriver.
The instructions say nothing specific about oil in the crankcase. If the oil comes as a separate bottle in the kit, it's simplest to leave it that way; if you fill it yourself, ask your drop-off point whether they'll accept it.
Brands: what we found on the list
On the restricted brands list as of Nov 8, 2026 (PDF), among brands common in generators we found Fubag, Huter, Hyundai, Kipor, Patriot, DENZEL, ВИХРЬ and Ресанта. Daewoo, Carver, Sturm, Makita, Bosch and DeWALT are there too. The brands are listed together, without a breakdown by category, so the final answer comes from the seller account when you create the card.
If a brand is restricted, the account shows a document form when you create the card (q2618, updated Jul 10, 2026). What is required depends on where you get the goods:

A nuance for those who import generators from abroad one at a time. The official website route doesn't work for "Household appliances", "Phones and gadgets", "TV, Audio, Video", "Computers" and "Beauty and health". Garden machinery and construction equipment are not among the exceptions, but UPS units and stabilisers sit in "Computers", so the website route is closed for them. The generator category itself is not restricted (q2224, updated Oct 5, 2026). Used goods and counterfeits are banned (q3904, updated Jan 16, 2026), as are display samples that were unpacked and shown to customers (clause 3.2 of the seller rules). A generator that stood in the showroom for a month and was started "for demonstration" can't be sold on Kaspi as new.
Calculation: from a spark plug to a 102 kg generator
A hypothetical example, not a client case. We made up the prices, purchase costs, packaging and the cost of our own delivery, and we leave taxes out. Kaspi Delivery tariffs come from q2288 (updated Jun 16, 2026), apply from Jan 1, 2026 and already include 16% VAT in the table.
Only the top part of the grid matters for generators, because almost everything costs more than 10,000 ₸ and is charged by weight. An auto-start unit under 5 kg ships to another region for 1,507 ₸. A 7 kg solar inverter costs 1,971 ₸. A 15–30 kg portable generator costs 4,175 ₸, a 60–100 kg petrol one 9,917 ₸, and anything over 100 kg is already 13,919 ₸. Small items like spark plugs cost less than 10,000 ₸, and there the tariff depends on the order amount: 173 ₸ for an order from 1,000 to 3,000 ₸.

The minimum price: (purchase + delivery + packaging) ÷ (1 − rate). For the 5.5 kW petrol generator shipped to another region: (168,000 + 9,917 + 2,000) ÷ 0.875 ≈ 205,619 ₸. Based on city delivery it would come out at ≈ 199,786 ₸, and if you set that figure, every order to Pavlodar brings in 5,104 ₸ less than you think. Wheels that cost 2,031 ₸
On its own, the 96 kg generator fits within the 60–100 kg step. Its wheel kit (6 kg, 14,000 ₸) as a separate order would ship for 1,971 ₸. But the buyer puts both in one cart, the order weighs 102 kg, and delivery becomes 13,919 ₸. As two orders it would be 9,917 + 1,971 = 11,888 ₸. That's a 2,031 ₸ difference on every such set.
What to do about it depends on your range. You can sell the generator with wheels as a single card and calculate the minimum price on the "over 100 kg" step. You can keep the wheels as a separate card and build those 2,031 ₸ into their price. What you definitely shouldn't do is understate the weight when handing the order over: the rules forbid declaring weight and dimensions that don't match the goods (q1342, updated Sep 30, 2026, clause 1.11).
A diesel set with your own delivery
Kaspi won't carry a 190 kg set, so the only options are "Моя доставка" (own delivery) in your city or pickup. The order has to be delivered on the day it's received or on the next business day (q2272, updated Sep 26, 2025), and for orders from 5,000 ₸ delivery is always free for the buyer. So the crane truck is your expense. In the table we used 15,000 ₸; put in your own number. On a ticket of nearly a million that's a trifle. The card: power, fuel and kit contents
Kaspi links a product to a card by its key attributes, and after a month they can no longer be changed (q3554, updated Feb 23, 2026). For a generator these are usually power, fuel type, generator type (inverter or not) and number of phases. Mix up 5 and 5.5 kW and the card ends up next to someone else's model, and prices get compared incorrectly. 220 V and 380 V models are separate cards, not variants of one: Kaspi allows several variants in one card only for clothing and footwear.
A generator buyer looks for three things in the description. Rated and maximum power: these are often confused, and returns start when the welder won't run on it. Kit contents: wheels, oil, a battery for the electric starter, an auto-start unit. And weight, the packed weight, not the "dry" figure from the manual. The last point also matters because the tariff is calculated on packed weight.
Solar panels and inverters
Panels are on the "not via Kaspi Delivery" list, while inverters, batteries and controllers for them are not. That means a "panel + inverter" set can't be shipped to another city as one order. If you assemble ready-made kits for the dacha, split them: the inverter and battery for the whole country, the panels only for your own city. Solar panels for camping sit separately, in "Sports, tourism", and they are not on the "not via Kaspi Delivery" list.
Returns and damage
A buyer can return an unused generator within 14 days and a defective one within 30 days or the warranty period (q2269, updated Sep 21, 2026). Generators have a special story here: "unused" is hard to verify if the buyer filled it with petrol and started it. Fuel traces and soot on the muffler are grounds to refuse the return, but the buyer can dispute the refusal within three days (q2277, updated Nov 27, 2024). Before shipping, photograph the dry tank and the clean muffler; in a dispute that's your main argument.
If the item is damaged in Kaspi Delivery, a claim is filed within 10 days within the city and 45 days across Kazakhstan, with compensation of 10%, 30% or 100% (q2306, updated Nov 25, 2025). A broken frame handle is more likely 30%; a smashed control panel is 100%. A packing video with date and time makes the dispute much easier. More in the article on packaging goods for Kaspi Delivery.
Common mistakes when selling generators on Kaspi
- A diesel set was listed with Kaspi Delivery. The drop-off point won't take it, and an order from another city can only be cancelled.
- The generator was handed over with petrol left in it. The shipment is refused: a day lost, and sometimes the order too.
- The brand wasn't checked. Hyundai, Huter or Fubag can't be listed without permission, and you may have nothing to show for 90 days of documents after the fact.
- The minimum price was calculated on city delivery. On a 60–100 kg generator, every regional order brings in 5,104 ₸ less.
- Wheels are sold separately and the 100 kg threshold was ignored. A combined order costs 2,031 ₸ more in delivery.
- Rated and maximum power were mixed up. Returning a 78 kg generator from a region means money lost on delivery and a week without the item.
- A "panel + inverter" set was listed for the whole country. Kaspi Delivery doesn't carry panels.
Checklist: generators on Kaspi
The most important work happens before the first card. Check your brands against the restricted list and collect documents for each one, or half your range simply won't go live. Then split the goods: diesel sets and solar panels only in your city, petrol and inverter generators across all of Kazakhstan. And make sure the warehouse knows about the empty tank: this rule breaks on the first tired employee.
- [ ] The right subcategory is chosen: garden machinery, construction equipment or electrics.
- [ ] Power, fuel type and number of phases are entered as key attributes.
- [ ] Packed weight is measured and the tariff step is clear.
- [ ] For generators around 95–100 kg, an order with accessories has been calculated.
- [ ] The minimum price is calculated on delivery to another city.
- [ ] The packaging can be opened and closed at the drop-off point.
- [ ] Photos of the tank seal and packing videos are kept for at least 45 days.
How to automate prices for generators
Cards for popular inverter and petrol models often have several sellers, and prices there move.
