How to sell workwear on Kaspi: a 12.5% rate, a declaration or certificate under TR CU 019/2011, the ban on uniforms and the minimum price

Workwear on Kaspi sells at a 12.5% rate with VAT, the category needs no permission, and sizes can be combined in one card just like regular clothing. The difficulties start with documents. Under technical regulation TR CU 019/2011 (ТР ТС 019/2011), a basic work suit is covered by a declaration, while a high-visibility vest and an insulated suit already need certification. Kaspi also explicitly bans the uniforms of the military, law enforcement and the tax service, and in workwear that line runs closer than it seems.

In short

  • Men's and women's workwear, and safety footwear along with it, carry 12.5% with VAT.
  • Gloves are different: work gloves have no subcategory of their own, and the closest one is "Gloves and mittens" in accessories, where the rate is already 15.5%.
  • A suit against general industrial contamination needs a declaration of conformity. High-visibility signal clothing and clothing against cold need mandatory certification.
  • Medical clothing is a restricted category and needs a set of documents. Uniforms of security agencies and the tax service cannot be sold.
  • A 2,400 ₸ hi-vis vest ships to another region for 173 ₸, while five vests for 12,000 ₸ already cost 1,507 ₸.

Where workwear sits and how much Kaspi takes

In the 2026 tariffs (2026 tariffs, PDF), workwear lives in "Clothing", next to jackets and jeans, not among construction tools. A storekeeper who needs a jacket for the shift by Monday looks for it right there.

What you sell Tariff section Without VAT With VAT
Work suits, jackets, overalls and vests for men Clothing → Men → Workwear for men 10.9% 12.5%
The same for women Clothing → Women → Workwear for women 10.9% 12.5%
Work footwear Footwear → Men's / Women's footwear → Safety footwear 10.9% 12.5%
Gloves and mittens Accessories → Hats, scarves, gloves 13.5% 15.5%
Medical clothing Pharmacy → Masks, bandages, syringes 10.9% 12.5%
Hunting clothing and footwear Sports, tourism → Hunting and shooting goods 10.9% 12.5%

Gloves are an unpleasant surprise. We didn't find a separate subcategory for work gloves in the tariffs, and "Gloves and mittens" carries 15.5% with VAT. On a 1,500 ₸ pair the difference from a suit is only 45 ₸, but if you sell packs of 50 pairs it becomes noticeable. Calculate gloves separately and don't reuse the minimum price you worked out for suits.

Kaspi takes commission only on a completed sale. If the buyer cancels the order, the commission is returned (q1344, updated Jan 6, 2026).

Documents: declaration or certificate

Kaspi doesn't require permission for the workwear category: it isn't on the list of restricted categories (q2224, updated Oct 5, 2026). But that doesn't remove the duty to confirm conformity. Workwear sold as protective is personal protective equipment (PPE), and it falls under Customs Union technical regulation TR CU 019/2011 "On the safety of personal protective equipment" (EEC).

The regulation has two classes (clause 5.5). Anything simple that works under minimal risks belongs to the first class and is declared. Complex designs and protection against death or irreversible harm to health are the second class, and here mandatory certification can't be avoided. Appendix No. 4 shows which item falls where, and there are surprises in it.

Item Row of Appendix No. 4 Form of conformity
Special clothing against mechanical impact, non-toxic dust and general industrial contamination 1 declaration, first class
Clothing against entanglement in moving machine parts 2 declaration, first class
Clothing against convective heat, sparks and splashes of molten metal (welder's suit) 28 certification, second class
Clothing and hand protection against low temperatures (insulated suits) 29 certification, second class
Clothing against the thermal risks of an electric arc 33 certification, second class
High-visibility signal clothing 41 certification, second class

For a seller this boils down to one rule: ask the supplier for a document covering exactly what the card's title and description say. If the card says "insulated suit for work in frost" and the supplier only has a declaration for a suit against general contamination, the document doesn't match the product. If you can't confirm protective properties, don't claim them. A jacket stays a jacket, just without the word "protective".

The regulation doesn't apply to PPE for sports competitions, special PPE for firefighters and rescuers, medical PPE, or exhibition samples (clause 1.7). Medical gowns and suits are a different story, covered below.

What can't be sold, or only with permission

Kaspi's list of banned goods has a separate line for the uniforms of the military, law enforcement and the tax service of Kazakhstan (q3904, updated Jan 16, 2026). Kaspi doesn't specify where the line between a uniform and work camouflage for a security guard runs. We would keep it simple: no chevrons, insignia, "Police" or "Security" labels with a coat of arms, and no "Interior Ministry uniform" in the title. A camouflage suit for hunting and fishing sits in a separate sports and tourism subcategory.

Medical clothing isn't workwear in Kaspi's sense. It is on the list of restricted categories (PDF) and belongs to "Pharmacy". It needs a supply contract, an EAC certificate or declaration, a state registration certificate where the law requires one, an invoice and proof of payment (q2224). Protective masks and face shields also sit in "Pharmacy". If you sell clothing for catering or cleaning, don't put it in the medical category "because it looks similar".

Brands

Of the brands we looked for on the restricted brands list as of Nov 8, 2026, S.Worker is there. The list is long, and it's easier to check in the seller account: if a brand is restricted, a document form appears when you create the card. You need a rights holder letter, a purchase contract, invoices and payment for the last 90 days, and at least 10 units of the brand (q2618, updated Jul 10, 2026). More in the article on brand restrictions on Kaspi.

The card: sizes, height and protective properties

Workwear counts as "Clothing", so several sizes and colours can be listed in one card (q3554, updated Feb 23, 2026). If you've already created separate cards for sizes 48, 50 and 52, they can be merged via "Объединить варианты товара" (Merge product variants) (q3146, updated Sep 28, 2026). How to do this in the app, with a template and via the API is covered in detail in the article on clothing and footwear on Kaspi, so we won't repeat it.

Workwear has something regular clothing doesn't: height. Work suits are made on a "size + height" grid: 52–54 for heights of 170–176 and 182–188. If you put only 52–54 in the size, a tall buyer gets short trousers and returns the suit. State the height in the attributes or right in the variant name. After a month the card's key attributes can no longer be changed, so check the grid before launch.

The rest of the description is what people will ask about later. Fabric density in g/m² and composition. Whether there are reflective stripes and how many. What temperature an insulated suit is rated for. What document the item has: a declaration or a certificate under TR CU 019/2011. A procurement buyer for a company compares exactly these, not photos on a model.

Calculation: a vest, a suit and an order for a crew

A hypothetical example, not a client case. We set the prices, purchase costs and packaging ourselves and leave taxes out. Kaspi Delivery tariffs apply from Jan 1, 2026 (q2288, updated Jun 16, 2026), and the table includes 16% VAT.

Workwear is light, so weight steps rarely matter here. The 10,000 ₸ threshold matters more. Below it, Kaspi charges delivery by order amount: 173 ₸ for 1,000–3,000 ₸, and 927 ₸ to another city for 5,000–10,000 ₸. From 10,000 ₸ it's by weight: up to 5 kg costs 1,275 ₸ within the city and 1,507 ₸ to another region; 15–30 kg to another region is 4,175 ₸.

Item Weight Destination Price Commission 12.5% Purchase Packaging Delivery Left over
Hi-vis vest 0.3 kg other city 2,400 ₸ 300 ₸ 900 ₸ 60 ₸ 173 ₸ 967 ₸
Hi-vis vests, 4 pcs 1.2 kg other city 9,600 ₸ 1,200 ₸ 3,600 ₸ 120 ₸ 927 ₸ 3,753 ₸
Hi-vis vests, 5 pcs 1.5 kg other city 12,000 ₸ 1,500 ₸ 4,500 ₸ 150 ₸ 1,507 ₸ 4,343 ₸
Summer work suit 1.6 kg city 14,800 ₸ 1,850 ₸ 8,200 ₸ 150 ₸ 1,275 ₸ 3,325 ₸
Summer work suit 1.6 kg other city 14,800 ₸ 1,850 ₸ 8,200 ₸ 150 ₸ 1,507 ₸ 3,093 ₸
Safety footwear 2.2 kg other city 24,000 ₸ 3,000 ₸ 14,500 ₸ 200 ₸ 1,507 ₸ 4,793 ₸
Insulated suit 3.8 kg other city 36,000 ₸ 4,500 ₸ 22,500 ₸ 250 ₸ 1,507 ₸ 7,243 ₸
12 summer suits in one order 19 kg other city 177,600 ₸ 22,200 ₸ 98,400 ₸ 900 ₸ 4,175 ₸ 51,925 ₸

The minimum price: (purchase + delivery + packaging) ÷ (1 − rate). For a summer suit shipped to another region: (8,200 + 1,507 + 150) ÷ 0.875 ≈ 11,265 ₸. For an insulated one: (22,500 + 1,507 + 250) ÷ 0.875 ≈ 27,722 ₸. Calculated on city delivery, the suit comes out 265 ₸ cheaper, and the difference looks laughable. But margins on workwear are thin, and it's exactly these hundreds that eat them in the regions. The full cost calculation with taxes is in the article how not to sell at a loss on Kaspi.

Five vests cost more to ship than four

Four vests for 9,600 ₸ ship to another region for 927 ₸. Add a fifth, and the 12,000 ₸ order is past the threshold, with delivery at 1,507 ₸. Look at where the extra 2,400 ₸ went: 300 ₸ commission, 900 ₸ purchase, 580 ₸ delivery. The fifth vest leaves you 590 ₸, whereas a single vest shipped to another region brings in 967 ₸. If you make sets for crews, jump over the threshold straight to 8–10 pieces, not by one.

An order for a crew

An order of 12 suits weighs about 19 kg and goes as a single shipment for 4,175 ₸. Twelve separate orders to the same city would cost 12 × 1,507 = 18,084 ₸. So for corporate buyers it matters that they can put the required quantity in the cart at once and that stock for each size allows it. More on stock in the article on stock levels on Kaspi.

Trying on and returns

The courier has brought the suit, and the buyer puts on the jacket right at the door. They have 15 minutes for this (q2301, updated Nov 6, 2023). If they need more time, the courier completes the handover, and the item can be returned within 14 days. A defective one can be returned within 30 days or the warranty period (q2269, updated Sep 21, 2026).

With workwear, returns are often about use rather than size. A suit someone has worked a shift in, with paint or oil stains, can be refused as goods that haven't kept their condition. The buyer has the right to dispute the refusal within three days (q2277, updated Nov 27, 2024). And if you refuse systematically, Kaspi may take measures up to ending the partnership (q5283, updated Sep 22, 2026). For labelling deadlines for clothing and footwear, see the article on product labelling for Kaspi.

Common mistakes when selling workwear on Kaspi

  1. "Protective" in the title with no paperwork. The supplier has a declaration for an ordinary suit, while the card proudly says "acid protection". At the first complaint it turns out the paper covers something else.
  2. A hi-vis vest on a declaration. The vest is cheap, but its class is second, like a welder's suit. It needs a certificate.
  3. A "Police" chevron on a security suit. Kaspi doesn't allow law enforcement uniforms, and the card will be taken down along with the shop's other violations.
  4. Medical suits among workwear. The category is restricted, and getting around it through a neighbouring subcategory is a bad idea.
  5. Gloves at the suit rate. The rate there is 15.5%, and a minimum price calculated with 0.875 comes out too low.
  6. Height forgotten. 52–54 for 170–176 and for 182–188 are different trousers. Returning a suit from a region costs you delivery and time.
  7. The fifth vest. A 12,000 ₸ set is already past the 10,000 ₸ threshold, and delivery to another region has gone up by 580 ₸.

Checklist: workwear on Kaspi

Start with documents, not photos. "Protection against contamination" means a declaration; "high-visibility" or "for frost" means a certificate, and the paper must match what the card promises. Then reread the titles through a moderator's eyes: words like "uniform", "Interior Ministry" or "security" with a coat of arms turn a work suit into a banned product. After that it gets easier.

  • [ ] Gloves sit in their own subcategory and are calculated at 15.5%.
  • [ ] Sizes and heights are combined in one card, and the grid has been checked against a sample in the warehouse.
  • [ ] The buyer can see fabric density, composition, stripes and the temperature the suit keeps you warm down to.
  • [ ] The brand has been checked against the restricted list.
  • [ ] Sets around 10,000 ₸ have been recalculated together with delivery.
  • [ ] Stock of popular sizes is enough if a crew orders 12 at once.

How to automate prices for workwear

Lots of sellers offer vests and summer suits, and in one card it's easy to be first on price in the morning and fifth by lunch. SaleScout's Kaspi bot (a repricing bot) checks prices at intervals from 20 seconds and never goes below the minimum price you set; for gloves, set it using the 15.5% rate. When a competitor raises their price or leaves the card, the bot raises yours too. You can try the bot free for 7 days, no card required. According to a salescout.me snapshot from Nov 8, 2026, plans start at 1,000 ₸ per month for one product; check salescout.me before paying.

Frequently asked questions about selling workwear on Kaspi

What commission does Kaspi charge on workwear?

In short, 12.5% with VAT. A 14,800 ₸ suit gives Kaspi 1,850 ₸, and 24,000 ₸ boots give 3,000 ₸. Work gloves stand apart: they sit in accessories, where the rate is 15.5%.

Do I need Kaspi's permission to sell workwear?

The category itself is open; it isn't on the restricted list. Permission will be requested if the brand is on the restricted brands list. Medical clothing is a separate case: it's a restricted category in "Pharmacy", and documents are always required.

What document does a work suit need under TR CU 019/2011?

It depends on what it protects against. An ordinary suit against mechanical impact and industrial contamination is first class, and a declaration is enough. An insulated suit, a hi-vis one or a welder's suit is second class and needs mandatory certification.

Can I sell a security guard uniform on Kaspi?

A plain black suit for a shift on site is fine to sell. Problems start with chevrons, coats of arms and agency labels: uniforms of the military, law enforcement and the tax service of Kazakhstan are on Kaspi's banned list.

Can workwear sizes be combined in one card?

Yes. For Kaspi, workwear is "Clothing", where several sizes and colours in one card are allowed. If the cards are already scattered, they are merged with the "Объединить варианты товара" (Merge product variants) button.

How much does it cost to ship a work suit to another city?

A suit priced above 10,000 ₸ and lighter than 5 kg ships to another region for 1,507 ₸ with VAT and within your own city for 1,275 ₸. If a crew takes 12 suits in one 19 kg order, delivery is 4,175 ₸ for the whole order.

How do I calculate the minimum price for workwear?

Take the summer suit: 8,200 ₸ purchase, 1,507 ₸ delivery to another region, 150 ₸ packaging. That's 9,857 ₸ together; divide by 0.875 and you get about 11,265 ₸, and you can't go any lower. For gloves the math is the same, only the divisor is 0.845.
