Household chemicals on Kaspi are a niche of cheap items and heavy boxes. A 1,200 ₸ dish soap earns almost nothing per unit, and a 9-kilogram bag of washing powder sent to another city pays more for delivery than you make on it. The documents aren't a formality either: household chemicals that are imported into or produced in the EAEU for the first time need a state registration certificate. Let's go through what the product card requires, how to pack liquids and how to build bundles so there's still a margin left.

- Household chemicals sit in «Товары для дома и дачи» (Home and garden), the commission is 12.5% including VAT, and the section needs no separate Kaspi permission.

Where household chemicals sit in the catalog and what Kaspi charges
In Kaspi's 2026 tariffs household chemicals are «Товары для дома и дачи → Хозяйственные товары → Бытовая химия» (Home and garden → Household goods → Household chemicals). That covers laundry powders, gels and capsules, fabric softeners, dish and dishwasher products, bathroom, glass and floor cleaners, air fresheners, insect repellents and household chemical sets. The rate is the same everywhere: 10.9% without VAT and 12.5% with VAT (2026 tariffs, PDF).
Home goods aren't on the list of restricted categories (q2224, updated Oct 5, 2026). But right next to them is «Аптека» (Pharmacy), with its own «Дезинфицирующие средства» (Disinfectants) at 7.3% including VAT. If your antiseptic belongs to the pharmacy section, you'll need permission for a restricted category. You can't pick the section for the lower rate: the product itself decides the category.
Check the brands as well. For well-known powder and gel brands Kaspi may ask for a letter from the rights holder or a contract, plus invoices and payments for the last 90 days, at least 10 units (q2618, updated Jul 10, 2026). Documents: the state registration certificate
What Decision No. 299 says
Section II of the Unified list names the products that need state registration. Item 6 covers disinfection, insect-control and rodent-control products for household use. Item 7 is «Продукция (товары) бытовой химии» ("Household chemical products"). Registration is required for products that are manufactured in the EAEU or imported into it for the first time, under the HS codes in the list (CU Commission Decision No. 299, section II). The requirements for household chemicals themselves are in the Unified sanitary requirements, chapter II, section 5 (EEC, Decision No. 299).
In practice this means one thing. If you buy from a distributor in Kazakhstan, ask them for the state registration certificate number. If you import yourself, say gels from China or Turkey that haven't been in the EAEU before, registration has to be done before you sell. The certificate number can be checked in the open EAEU register, so a "document on the way" will be obvious to a buyer or an inspector right away.
Insect repellents and disinfectants
A mosquito spray, cockroach traps and a surface antiseptic fall under item 6, not item 7. For the seller the difference is small: registration is needed in both cases. But in the card and in the documents the product must be named exactly as it is in the certificate, otherwise Kaspi may reject the document during review.

The product card: liters, concentration and shelf life
Kaspi links a product to a card by its main attributes (q3554, updated Feb 23, 2026). For chemicals the key one is volume or weight. A 1.5-liter and a 3-liter gel are different cards. Only products of the same brand and category with matching main attributes can be merged (q5146, updated Jul 23, 2026). A month after a card is created its main attributes can no longer be changed, so get the volume right from the start.
What buyers look for in the description:
- how many washes or uses one pack gives;
- what kind of washing: by hand, machine, colors, baby clothes;
- the scent, and whether there's an unscented version;
- shelf life and production date.
Shelf life matters more than it seems. If the product arrives expired, the buyer is entitled to return it within 30 days (Law of the RK No. 274-IV, article 30, item 1-1). For Kaspi this is an ordinary return of a defective product (q2269, updated Sep 21, 2026). Don't keep a batch in stock that expires in two months, and don't price it the same as a fresh one. Packing: liquids and products that must stay upright
Kaspi's instructions say: if the order contains liquids or goods that must travel in a certain position, use handling labels. The item is fixed inside, empty space is filled, and the waybill is attached over the whole package with two strips of tape (How to pack goods for Kaspi Delivery, PDF). Among the labels in the same instructions is «Огнеопасно» ("Flammable"). If a product is flammable, first ask Kaspi whether it's accepted for delivery at all, and only then create the card.
Three rules are worth taking from experience with liquids. Wrap the dispenser cap with tape or put film under it. Put each bottle in its own bag: a leaking gel ruins the neighboring item and the waybill. Stand canisters upright and don't put anything heavy on them. If the packing doesn't follow the rules, Kaspi may reject a damage claim (q2296, updated Nov 5, 2025).
Small items up to 1 kg can't be shipped in packaging smaller than 15×12 cm for a courier bag or 14×20 cm for a box. A stain-remover bottle in a tiny bag won't be accepted. Record the packing on video with the date and time visible: if a buyer writes that an empty bottle arrived, that's your only argument. More in packing goods for Kaspi Delivery.
The math: why single units of chemicals don't work
A hypothetical example, not a client case. Prices, purchase costs and weights are made up, and taxes are left out. Delivery follows Kaspi's tariffs from Jan 1, 2026, with 16% VAT added (q2288, updated Jun 16, 2026). Below 10,000 ₸ the tariff depends on the order sum: up to 3,000 ₸ it's 173 ₸, from 3,000 to 5,000 ₸ it's 231 ₸, from 5,000 to 10,000 ₸ it's 811 ₸ within the city and 927 ₸ across Kazakhstan. From 10,000 ₸ it's calculated by weight.

Minimum price = (Purchase cost + Delivery + Packing) ÷ (1 − Commission incl. VAT)
For the powder going to another city: (7,400 + 1,971 + 200) ÷ 0.875 ≈ 10,938 ₸. Sell at 11,500 ₸ and only 562 ₸ of price stands between you and zero. One competitor discount and you're at a loss. Within the city the same bag costs 1,565 ₸ to deliver, leaving 897 ₸. For heavy chemicals the honest conclusion is this: either sell in your own city or switch to smaller packs.
Two bottles instead of one
A 1,200 ₸ dish soap brings 257 ₸. Two of them in one card at 2,400 ₸ bring 687 ₸, almost 2.7 times more. The reason is simple: delivery is 173 ₸ in both cases, because the order stays under 3,000 ₸. If you sell cheap chemicals, a double or triple pack is the first thing to check.
What one return costs
If the buyer returns the item, Kaspi refunds the commission for that order (q1344, updated Jan 6, 2026). The delivery that was charged stays with you. For a 1,200 ₸ product that's 173 ₸, two thirds of the profit from one order. An opened bottle can't be sold again, and then the 620 ₸ purchase cost is added to the loss. One such return wipes out the profit from three or four normal sales. That's why the description of volume, scent and purpose isn't decoration here; it's how you stop losing money.
The 5,000 ₸ threshold
A 4,900 ₸ bundle ships for 231 ₸ and leaves 1,037 ₸. The same bundle at 5,200 ₸ falls into the next step: 811 ₸ within the city and 927 ₸ across Kazakhstan. That leaves 719 and 603 ₸. Adding 300 ₸ to the price cost you 434 ₸ of margin on out-of-town orders. If you want to sell at a higher price, add one more item to the bundle and go well above 5,000 ₸, not 200 ₸ above it. Common mistakes when selling household chemicals on Kaspi
- A product without a state registration certificate. Household chemicals and disinfectants need one under Decision No. 299, and a missing number surfaces at the first check.
- 1.5-liter and 3-liter gel in one card. Volume is a main attribute; these are different products.
- A cheap product sold as a single unit. A 1,200 ₸ item leaves 257 ₸, and any return eats the profit from several orders.
- A bundle at 5,200 ₸ instead of 4,900 ₸. Delivery to another city goes up from 231 to 927 ₸.
- Heavy powder sent to another city. For 9 kg delivery is 1,971 ₸, and only 562 ₸ is left between the price and the minimum price.
- An unsecured dispenser. A leaking gel ruins the neighboring items, and Kaspi may reject a claim for such packing.
- A batch with a short shelf life. The buyer will return an expired product within 30 days.

Yes. Article 30 of the Consumer Protection Law has exceptions like underwear and medicines, but chemicals aren't among them. A buyer can bring back a sealed bottle of gel within 14 days, and there's nothing to argue about. It's worse when the complaint is about shelf life: for an expired product the buyer has 30 days, and the order comes back to you along with the delivery you've already paid.
How do I calculate the minimum price for household chemicals?
Take the same 9-kilogram bag. Purchase cost 7,400 ₸, delivery to Shymkent or Pavlodar 1,971 ₸, box and tape 200 ₸, 9,571 ₸ in total. Divide by 0.875 and you get about 10,938 ₸. If a competitor has set 10,900 ₸, don't chase them: you'd be shipping that order at a loss.
