Kaspi sells cameras, lenses, action cameras, flashes, tripods and studio lighting at 12.5% including VAT, and the category needs no permission. The brands do, and that's almost the whole market: Canon, Nikon, Sony, Fujifilm, Instax, GoPro, DJI, Godox and Panasonic. Used equipment is banned entirely, even though for photographers it's half the turnover. And one more unpleasant thing: on a 780,000 ₸ camera bought for 690,000 ₸ you lose 10,007 ₸ on every order.

Where photo equipment sits in the catalog and what the rate is
All photo and video is in the «ТВ, Аудио, Видео → Фото- и видеокамеры» (TV, Audio, Video → Photo and video cameras) branch of the 2026 tariffs (2026 tariffs, PDF). We went through every line of this branch, and the rate in them is the same.

Camera drones are in the same section but in the neighboring «Развлечения → Дроны и квадрокоптеры» (Entertainment → Drones and quadcopters) branch, with the same 12.5% rate. Ring lights for bloggers sit right in photo equipment, next to tripods and softboxes, and that's where buyers look for them.
Photo equipment is not on the restricted categories list (list, PDF).
Brands: where a permission is needed
Who is on the list
We opened the list on Nov 3, 2026 and, frankly, were surprised how many photo brands are on it. Among cameras — Canon, Nikon, Sony, Fujifilm and Panasonic. Instax has its own line, although many think of it as just a Fujifilm product line. GoPro and DJI cover action cameras and gimbals, and Godox covers studio lighting. We did not find Olympus or Insta360 in this version, but the list is live, so open it again before buying stock.
Pay attention to Godox. Its flashes and softboxes are often bought as "just lighting", but it's a restricted brand, and you can't create a card without a permission.
Brand documents
Kaspi accepts one of two packages (q2618, updated Jul 10, 2026). A letter or contract with the rights holder or its official supplier. Or invoices and payment documents for the last 90 days covering at least 10 units of the brand.
With lenses, the second route hits your wallet: ten units at 368,000 ₸ is already 3,680,000 ₸ frozen in stock until approval. Instax is easier to get into, the cameras are cheaper. Just don't forget that Fujifilm and Instax are two different lines on the list, and you need to check both.
Even after approval Kaspi may ask for documents again. Forged papers are a direct route to disconnection from the Store, so it's better not to risk it. We covered how to apply for a brand step by step in the article brand restrictions on Kaspi.
What's banned: used goods, "grey" replicas, hidden cameras
Used goods
In Kaspi's banned goods list, used goods are on the first line together with fakes and replicas (q3904, updated Jan 16, 2026). For photo that hurts: used lenses and bodies are a huge market, but there's no place for it on Kaspi. A camera "with 2,000 shots on the counter" is not new, however much protective film is still on it.
Demo units go there too. The Store terms forbid selling unpacked goods that were used for demonstration to buyers (clause 3.2 of q1342, updated Sep 30, 2026). A camera that customers were allowed to "try a few shots" with in a showroom won't become new on Kaspi.
Hidden cameras
The same list has spy goods with a built-in hidden camera or a high-frequency microphone. Mini cameras shaped like a pen, a charger or a smoke detector fall under this. If a supplier sells them as "for unnoticed filming", you can't list such a product on Kaspi. An action camera on a helmet or chest is an ordinary camera: it's visible and films openly.
The math: a filter, a lamp, Instax, an action camera, a lens, a camera
A hypothetical example, not a client case. Purchase prices and selling prices are made up, taxes are not included. Delivery is based on Kaspi tariffs from Jan 1, 2026 plus 16% VAT (q2288, updated Jun 16, 2026). Below 10,000 ₸ the delivery cost depends on the order amount, from 10,000 ₸ on the weight. A studio lighting kit weighs 5–15 kg, everything else is up to 5 kg. Everywhere except the marked row, delivery is to another city.

The minimum price formula: (purchase + delivery + packaging) ÷ (1 − rate). For the lens: (368,000 + 1,507 + 800) ÷ 0.875 ≈ 423,208 ₸. For the camera: (690,000 + 1,507 + 1,000) ÷ 0.875 ≈ 791,437 ₸.
Expensive equipment and a thin markup
On an expensive camera a 13% markup looks decent: 90,000 ₸ on one box. But a 12.5% commission on 780,000 ₸ is 97,500 ₸. The commission is bigger than your entire markup, even before delivery. So for equipment above 300–400 thousand, it's not ads or the top spot that decide, but the purchase price. If it doesn't give a markup well above 12.5%, that product on Kaspi is not for you.
Now something people usually don't notice right away. Lighting, backdrops, tripods and bags cost many times less than cameras, but often bring more per order. Look at the table: softboxes at 38,000 ₸ leave 6,779 ₸, an action camera at 165,000 ₸ leaves 3,568 ₸. Half as much at four times the price. So a store often lives not on the cameras themselves but on everything around them.
The 10,000 ₸ threshold
A filter at 9,500 ₸ ships for 927 ₸, at 10,500 ₸ for 1,507 ₸. Here crossing the threshold pays off: the price is 1,000 ₸ higher, and you keep 296 ₸ more. That's not always the case. The card, packaging and returns
Attributes
Key attributes tie a product to its card, and after a month you can't change them (q3554, updated Feb 23, 2026). For a lens that's the mount, focal length and aperture; for a camera, the kit: body only or with a kit lens. A body and a kit are different products, and they can't be merged in one card (q5146, updated Jul 23, 2026).
The mount is the main reason lenses get returned. A buyer sees a familiar name, orders, and the mount doesn't fit their camera. A line saying "such-and-such mount, for cameras of such-and-such system" in the first paragraph of the description is worth a dozen photos.
Batteries and non-original accessories
Spare batteries, chargers, lens hoods and caps — Kaspi has its own subcategory for camera batteries and chargers, at the same 12.5% rate. Here it's easy to go wrong the other way. A compatible third-party battery can be sold if it's sold under its own brand. But a "Canon battery" without the Canon logo on the casing is already a question of counterfeiting, and Kaspi bans fakes on the same line as used goods.
Write honestly: "compatible with cameras of such-and-such series", and the camera brand's name only in that context. If a supplier sent batteries with someone else's logo at a third of the original's price, we wouldn't list them on Kaspi at all.
One more small thing that costs a lot. Batteries at 4,000–6,000 ₸ fall into the delivery tiers based on order amount. A battery at 4,900 ₸ ships for 231 ₸, at 5,100 ₸ to another city for 927 ₸. A "battery plus charger" kit above 10,000 ₸ is often more profitable than two separate cards: delivery there is already charged by weight, not by amount, and a light kit up to 5 kg goes at the cheapest weight tariff.
Packaging
Pack a lens and a camera in the factory box, and that in an outer box with filler on all sides. Kaspi may refuse compensation if the packaging doesn't follow the instructions (q2296, updated Nov 5, 2025). Damage claims are accepted within 10 calendar days within the city and 45 across Kazakhstan, compensation is 10%, 30% or 100% depending on what was damaged (q2306, updated Nov 25, 2025). A compact camera or a lens in its box fits into the XS Kaspi Postomat locker, 94 × 189 × 452 mm (q2915, updated Jul 23, 2024).
Returns
A store cannot refuse an exchange or return of a product of proper quality within 14 calendar days if its presentation is preserved (clause 4.3 of q1342). A camera that shot a wedding and was returned on day thirteen may formally pass as "presentation preserved". Check the shutter count when accepting a return: it shows how much the camera was used and gives you an argument in a dispute.
Common mistakes when selling photo equipment on Kaspi
- A camera with a 13% markup. The 97,500 ₸ commission is bigger than the markup, and every order goes 10,007 ₸ negative.
- Godox as "just lighting". It's a restricted brand, and without a permission the batch just sits.
- A used lens in perfect condition. Kaspi bans used goods regardless of condition.
- A mini camera "for unnoticed filming". A spy product, it's on the banned list.
- No mount in the first paragraph. The lens comes back, and you pay delivery both ways.
- Body and kit in one card. The buyer expected a lens in the box and got only the body.
- A filter at 10,100 ₸. Delivery went up by 580 ₸ and the price by only 600 ₸, and with commission you're below the 9,500 ₸ price.
Checklist: photo equipment on Kaspi
- [ ] The brand is checked against the latest list, Fujifilm and Instax — both lines.
- [ ] Documents for a restricted brand are collected before buying stock.
- [ ] No used or demo units in stock.
- [ ] The markup on expensive equipment is above 12.5% with room for delivery.
- [ ] The minimum price is calculated at the long-distance tariff.
- [ ] Mount, focal length and kit are stated in the card.
- [ ] Body and kit are in different cards.
- [ ] Packaging has an outer box and filler.
And a habit that didn't fit into the checkboxes. Before shipping an expensive camera, film a short video on your phone: the serial number on the body, the camera going into the box, the box being taped. If the buyer later says the wrong thing arrived, that video will get you out.

Cards for popular cameras, lenses and lighting usually have several sellers, and the price in them moves.
