SaleScout feature guide · Pre-order when out of stock
When stock hits zero, the bot doesn’t withdraw the item from sale — it switches it to pre-order for the number of days you set. Buyers keep placing orders. When the item is back in stock, the pre-order is removed automatically.

On sale, 3-day pre-order
The item stays on sale. The buyer sees the delivery time plus the pre-order days and keeps ordering.
The pre-order switches on and off by itself, based on warehouse stock. Nothing to toggle by hand.
When stock hits zero, the bot doesn’t withdraw the item from sale and sets a pre-order for as many days as you chose.
Repricing keeps working: when stock drops to zero, the bot immediately queues the item for a price recalculation.
When stock is above zero again, normal sales with the warehouse’s own settings come back.
The pre-order switches on only at the warehouse (pickup point) where stock is 0. Where the item is in stock, it sells as usual.
| Warehouse (pickup point) | Stock | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Almaty, warehouse #1 | 0 | 3-day pre-order |
| Astana, pickup point | 7 | Normal sales |
| Shymkent, warehouse | 0 | 3-day pre-order |
Turn on “Pre-order when out of stock” and set “Preorder days”: 1 to 30, 3 by default.
Turned on per product. Connecting the feature isn’t enough: turn on the pre-order for each product.
Stock tracking is required. The feature fires when SaleScout sees zero stock: stock comes from XML or is set in warehouses and goes down with every order. If stock isn’t set, the bot won’t know the item has run out.
Pre-order up to 30 days. The field won’t accept more.
Doesn’t work together with the “Per-order quantity limit”. If the product has the limit on, the pre-order won’t work — the item will be withdrawn from sale.
