Kaspi sells security cameras, video recorders, intercoms, electronic locks, alarms and smart home sensors at 12.5% with VAT, and the category itself needs no permission. The brand almost always does: Hikvision, HiWatch, Dahua, Imou, TP-LINK, Xiaomi, Aqara, Яндекс (Yandex) and Ajax are on the restricted list. A separate risk in this niche is the ban on spy goods: a camera built into a charger or a clock can't be sold on Kaspi. And the money here is lost on small things, like a sensor at 5,300 ₸ that brings in less than one at 4,900 ₸.

Where these products sit in the Kaspi catalog
Cameras for homes and offices are not in electronics but in «Строительство, ремонт → Системы безопасности» (Construction, renovation → Security systems). Smart sensors and hubs are in «Товары для дома и дачи → Умный дом» (Home and garden → Smart home). We went through both branches in the 2026 tariffs (2026 tariffs, PDF), and the rate is the same everywhere.

The rate is the same, but the subcategory still matters: a parent looking for a baby monitor searches the kids' section, not among cameras for warehouses. Put a "camera for watching your child" into security systems and it will compete with outdoor cameras and get lost.
Security systems and smart home are not on the restricted categories list (list, PDF). Only brands are.
Brands: what we found on the list on Nov 4, 2026
Who is restricted
Among cameras and recorders the list has Hikvision, HiWatch, Dahua and Imou. Among network gear and home cameras, TP-LINK and Xiaomi. Among smart home brands, Aqara, Яндекс and Ajax. We didn't find EZVIZ, Reolink, Tuya or Sonoff in this version of the list. That doesn't mean you can stock them without looking: the list is updated, and it's worth checking before every new purchase, not from memory.
So a typical "cameras and smart home" store needs a permission for half of its range. If you buy five brands at once, you need documents for each of the five.
Which documents Kaspi accepts
There are three options (q2618, updated Jul 10, 2026). If your supplier buys from the brand's official representative, you need a letter from the rights holder confirming the supplier's rights, a purchase contract, and invoices with payment for the last 90 days, at least 10 units per brand. If there's an intermediary between you and the official supplier, you need more letters: from the official supplier and from the rights holder. The third path is buying on the brand's official website with receipts in the name of the company head, no older than 60 days, also from 10 units.
Note the exception to the third path. For the «Телефоны и гаджеты» (Phones and gadgets), «Бытовая техника» (Home appliances), «ТВ, Аудио, Видео» (TV, Audio, Video), «Компьютеры» (Computers) and «Красота и здоровье» (Beauty and health) categories, a purchase on the official website doesn't get you a permission. Security cameras are not in these categories, but a webcam sits in «Компьютеры». Bringing in a batch of webcams from a brand's official website and getting a permission for it won't work.
Ten Wi-Fi cameras at 8,500 ₸ means 85,000 ₸ of purchase cost. Ten kits with four cameras and a recorder is already 860,000 ₸, and all of it sits in the warehouse while Kaspi reviews the documents. For fake documents Kaspi warns of measures up to disconnection from the Store.
What you can't sell: hidden cameras and listening devices
Kaspi's list of prohibited goods has a separate item: spy goods, "with a built-in hidden camera or a high-frequency microphone, etc." (q3904, updated Jan 16, 2026). This covers cameras in the body of a charger, a desk clock, a smoke detector, a pen, a key fob. Buyers search for them as "mini camera", but for Kaspi it's a hidden camera.
A regular small camera that looks like a camera is a different matter. The line is whether the device is disguised as another object. Kaspi doesn't publish a list of borderline models, so we wouldn't stock anything the manufacturer describes as "hidden" or "invisible". And we wouldn't write "no one will guess it's a camera" in the card. That phrase itself describes a spy product.
Two more items from the same list touch this niche. You can't sell used goods, and a camera returned after mounting with a scratched bracket is no longer new. And you can't sell unpacked goods that were shown to buyers (clause 3.2 of the Store terms, updated Sep 30, 2026). A camera you had connected on a stand in your showroom won't go on Kaspi as new.
The math: a sensor, a Wi-Fi camera, an intercom, a kit with a recorder
A hypothetical example, not a client case. Purchase and selling prices are made up, taxes are not included. Delivery is based on Kaspi tariffs from Jan 1, 2026 plus 16% VAT (q2288, updated Jun 16, 2026). Up to 10,000 ₸ it depends on the order total, from 10,000 ₸ on the weight.

The minimum price is calculated like this: (purchase + delivery + packaging) ÷ (1 − rate). For a 2K Wi-Fi camera delivered to another city: (8,500 + 1,507 + 200) ÷ 0.875 ≈ 11,665 ₸. For the kit with a recorder: (86,000 + 1,971 + 800) ÷ 0.875 ≈ 101,453 ₸.
The 10,000 ₸ threshold on budget cameras
A camera at 9,800 ₸ travels to another city for 927 ₸ and leaves you 1,448 ₸. Raise the price by 500 ₸, to 10,300 ₸, and delivery goes up to 1,507 ₸, leaving 1,305 ₸ per order. You charge the buyer more and get 143 ₸ less. There are plenty of budget Wi-Fi cameras on the market, and most of them are priced right around this line.
Hence a simple rule. If a camera costs from 9,000 to 11,000 ₸, calculate both options before you move the price. Sometimes it's better to stay at 9,900 ₸, sometimes to jump straight to 11,500 ₸ or higher, where the delivery difference is already covered.
Sensors and the 5,000 ₸ zone
Sensors and remotes have a similar story, just lower. Up to 5,000 ₸ delivery costs 231 ₸, from 5,000 to 10,000 ₸ it's 811 ₸ within the city and 927 ₸ to another city. A door sensor at 4,900 ₸ leaves 1,357 ₸, at 5,300 ₸ to another city 1,011 ₸. On a 400 ₸ markup you lose 346 ₸.
The logical way out is kits. Two sensors and a hub at 12,000 ₸ already travel by weight, and a light order up to 5 kg costs 1,275–1,507 ₸. Calculate the numbers for your own kit with the same formula and compare with selling pieces one by one.
Kits: weight barely matters
A kit of four cameras, a recorder and a power supply usually falls into 5–15 kg. The difference between the same city and another city here is only 406 ₸, and on a 120,000 ₸ ticket it's almost invisible. Money in kits is lost not on delivery but on returns: a person bought a system, couldn't connect it and returned it. More on that below.
What Kaspi Delivery won't carry
Kaspi has a separate document: categories of goods that can't be sent with Kaspi Delivery (PDF). From security systems it lists barriers (шлагбаумы), emergency construction fencing and fire equipment. Barriers sit in the tariffs next to turnstiles and controllers, and if you add them to your range, you'll have to deliver them yourself.
The same document has a general addendum. Restrictions can apply to any category if the item is longer than 3 metres, weighs more than 250 kg, is fragile or needs special packaging, if it's a bulky item in assembled form, or if there are more than 10 pieces in the order. There are also limits of a specific drop-off point. Kaspi may refuse an order if its dimensions or weight exceed what that point accepts (q3047, updated Jan 22, 2026). The limits are shown on the map of drop-off points if you click the point.
Installation, the card and returns
Installation can't be built into the price
Cameras and intercoms are often sold "with installation". On Kaspi you can't do that: the Store terms directly forbid including additional services in the price of the product (clause 7.1 of q1342). The price in the card is the price of the camera. Installation, if you do it, is arranged separately and not as part of the Kaspi order.
It's worth writing this plainly in the description: "price without installation". Otherwise a buyer who was waiting for a technician will file a return, and the return delivery falls on you.
Attributes you can't change
The main attributes of a card depend on the category, and if the card is more than a month old, they can't be changed (q3554, updated Feb 23, 2026). For a camera that's usually the model, resolution and connection type. You can combine products in one card only if they have the same brand, category and main attributes (q5146, updated Jul 23, 2026). A 2 MP and a 4 MP camera of the same series are different cards.
In the description the buyer looks for the things that later become reasons for a return. Is a memory card needed, and is it included. Does the camera work without a cloud subscription. Which app is needed. Wi-Fi 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz. Power from a socket or over a PoE cable. That's five lines of text, and each of them removes one "didn't fit" reason.
Returns
A buyer can return a product of proper quality within 14 days if it keeps its presentable condition, and a defective one within 30 days (q2269, updated Sep 21, 2026). A store can't refuse a return within these periods (clause 4.3 of q1342).
The most common scenario in this niche: the camera was unpacked, linked to the app, the buyer couldn't figure it out and returned it. The account link must be reset before reselling. Common mistakes in selling security cameras on Kaspi
- A batch of Hikvision or Ajax without a permission. The money is frozen in stock, and you can't create a card. On kits that's hundreds of thousands of tenge.
- A mini camera disguised as a charger or a clock. It's a spy product, and Kaspi prohibits it.
- A camera at 10,300 ₸ instead of 9,800 ₸. Delivery to the regions goes up by 580 ₸, and you keep 143 ₸ less per order.
- "Price with installation". Including additional services in the product price is forbidden, and waiting for a technician ends in a return.
- Nothing said about the memory card and the subscription. The buyer finds out at home and returns the item within the 14-day period.
- A barrier in the range without your own delivery. Kaspi Delivery won't carry it, and the order will have to be cancelled.
- A returned camera back on sale as new. Kaspi prohibits used goods and unpacked display samples.
Checklist: security cameras and smart home on Kaspi
Brands first. Check each brand against the fresh restricted list and collect the documents before paying the supplier: for the third path through the official website you have 60 days from the purchase date, and that's cutting it close.
- [ ] The range has been checked for "hidden" models, and there are none.
- [ ] The subcategory is chosen where buyers search: baby monitors go in kids' goods.
- [ ] The minimum price is calculated with delivery to another city.
- [ ] Camera prices around 10,000 ₸ and sensor prices around 5,000 ₸ are recalculated on both sides of the threshold.
- [ ] The description covers the memory card, subscription, app, Wi-Fi and power.
- [ ] "Price without installation" is in the first paragraph of the description.
- [ ] Models with different resolution are in different cards.
- [ ] Own delivery is set up for barriers and long items.
- [ ] Returned cameras are reset in the app and checked for presentable condition.
