«Оптовые покупки» (Wholesale Purchases) is a service in the Kaspi Pay app through which a seller orders batches of goods directly from China and pays in tenge from their Kaspi Pay account. The price already includes VAT, customs clearance and door-to-door delivery, and you get the waybill and invoice in the app. It sounds like hassle-free sourcing, but the service has its own rules: a minimum batch, an address you cannot change, the yuan rate moving between confirmation and payment, and a short window to file a claim for defects.
In short
- An employee with any role can place an order, but only the head of the company can pay, and only from the main Kaspi Pay account. Cards from other banks are not accepted.
- The final amount can shift: the supplier confirms the order within up to two days, and if the yuan-to-tenge rate changes in that time, the amount changes too. On a 928,000 ₸ batch, a 3% rate move is 27,840 ₸.
- The delivery city and address cannot be changed after ordering, and neither can the delivery date. You can cancel an order only before payment.
- You have 7 calendar days from receipt to file a claim for damaged goods, or 14 for a made-to-order batch.
- The main constraint is not price but the minimum batch. At two sales a day, a batch of 200 units will sit for 100 days, and your money with it.
What Wholesale Purchases is
How it works
Kaspi describes the service like this: partners order batches of goods directly from China, Kaspi Pay checks the goods for quality and compliance with the description, and payment is made in tenge from the Kaspi Pay account with supporting documents (q4683, updated Feb 7, 2026). You do not have to find a manufacturer, negotiate, clear customs or collect documents yourself.
The price of the goods includes VAT, customs clearance and delivery (q4686, updated Feb 6, 2026). There is no separate charge for delivery (q4700).
What you can buy
The catalog is wide. Kaspi lists 17 groups (q4687, updated Feb 6, 2026):

A batch with your own design
You can order goods with a print, engraving or your own label. To do this, you fill in the «Заказ товаров на производство» ("Made-to-order goods") form in the service, and within two business days a Kaspi Pay manager contacts you to clarify details and find a manufacturer (q4708, updated Feb 7, 2026). For a seller with their own brand this is an interesting option; we will come back to it below.
How to place an order: step by step
Search
In the Kaspi Pay app: Wholesale Purchases → «Перейти в каталог» ("Go to catalog"). You search for goods by name, by category or by photo: the search bar has a camera button, so you can take a picture or upload an image from the gallery (q4688, updated Mar 1, 2026).
The most useful section is «Подборка для вас» ("Picked for you"). It contains only goods from your own range in the Kaspi.kz Store. If the item you need is missing, you can submit a request to add it to the catalog.
Cart and confirmation
The order is as follows (q5111, updated Jul 15, 2026):
- Choose the product and quantity. The minimum batch is shown next to the price; an order can contain any number of items, but each has its own minimum batch (q4689).
- Add to cart and place the order. At this step you enter the delivery city and address, and you cannot change them later.
- Wait for the seller's confirmation. A message will arrive in Kaspi Pay.
- Pay. You can see the delivery date in the «Мои заказы» ("My orders") tab.
An employee with any role can place an order, but only the head of the company can pay (q4685, updated Feb 6, 2026). That is convenient: a manager fills the cart, the owner reviews it and pays.
Payment and exchange rate
You pay from the main Kaspi Pay account, in tenge. You pay only after the supplier confirms, and that can take up to two days. If the yuan-to-tenge rate changes during that time, the final amount may go up or down, and this will be visible in the order details (q4705, updated Feb 6, 2026). You cannot pay with a card from another bank (q4706).
Cancelling and rescheduling
You can cancel an order only before the head of the company has paid for it: Wholesale Purchases → My orders → «Отменить заказ» ("Cancel order") (q4712, updated Feb 7, 2026). The delivery date in a placed order cannot be moved. The only way out is to cancel an unpaid order and place a new one (q4713).
Sometimes the supplier cancels: they have run out of some of the goods in the order. In that case you look for a similar product from another supplier by name, keywords, photo or in "Picked for you" (q4710).
Delivery, documents and defects
Timing and delays
The Kaspi Guide does not publish specific delivery times: the order shows the date. The reasons for delays are named plainly: an additional cargo inspection at customs, heavy load on carriers in season, queues at the border, holidays in China or Kazakhstan. When the cargo clears customs in Kazakhstan, you will get a message (q4703, updated Feb 6, 2026).
The practical takeaway: order ahead of the season with a time buffer, and plan for Chinese New Year separately. Documents
The app gives you the waybill (СНТ) and the electronic invoice: Wholesale Purchases → My orders → order → «Детали» ("Details") (q4711, updated Apr 28, 2026). In the service description Kaspi also mentions a purchase and sale agreement (q4683).
This matters more than it seems. Goods with a СНТ and an invoice are goods with a clear origin, and you are not embarrassed to show them during an inspection. If you are a VAT payer, the VAT on the invoice is offset under the general rules; if not, VAT is simply part of the purchase price and has to be counted in your unit cost.
Damaged goods
You file a claim through the form given in the Guide. The deadlines run from the day of receipt: 7 calendar days for a regular order and 14 for a made-to-order batch. The decision arrives in Kaspi Pay; if it is positive, the money goes back to your Kaspi Pay account, and if it is a refusal, you can file again within 5 calendar days (q4715, updated Feb 8, 2026).
Seven days is not much if the batch arrives on a Friday before a long weekend. Open the boxes and check at least a sample on the day you receive them, not when you get round to it.
Calculation: unit cost, minimum price and turnover
Cost per unit
In Wholesale Purchases the maths is simpler than with your own imports: delivery and customs are already in the price. The full formula with cargo, duty and certification, if you import yourself, is in the article on goods from China to sell on Kaspi.
Profit per sale = price on Kaspi − unit price in Wholesale Purchases − Kaspi commission − Kaspi Delivery − tax
Hypothetical example, not a client case. Assumptions: a batch of 200 units at 4,640 ₸ per unit including VAT (4,000 ₸ + 16% VAT, Tax Code of Kazakhstan, Art. 503), you are on the simplified regime without VAT in Almaty at a 3% rate, and you sell on Kaspi for 9,000 ₸. Commission is 12.5% including VAT, the rate for most categories (q1344 and the 2026 tariffs PDF). A 9,000 ₸ order falls into the Kaspi Delivery (Kaspi Доставка) city tariff for orders from 5,000 to 10,000 ₸: 699 ₸ without VAT, or 811 ₸ with VAT (q2288, updated Jun 16, 2026).

The minimum price below which you start losing money:
Minimum price = (purchase + delivery) ÷ (1 − commission − tax rate) = (4,640 + 811) ÷ (1 − 0.125 − 0.03) ≈ 6,451 ₸

The yuan rate
The batch costs 200 × 4,640 = 928,000 ₸. If the rate moves by 3% between ordering and payment, the amount changes by 27,840 ₸, or 139 ₸ per unit. That is roughly one fifteenth of the profit per sale in our example. Not a disaster, but worth building into the calculation, especially if your margin is thinner.
Minimum batch and turnover
The price per unit is only half the picture. The other half is how many days the money sits in boxes. From the batch in our example you earn 200 × 2,154 = 430,800 ₸, or 46.4% on every tenge invested. The question is how long it takes.

Formula: monthly yield = batch profit ÷ purchase amount × 30 ÷ days to sell the batch. A product that sells two a day freezes almost a million tenge for more than three months. If the same money can buy three items in smaller batches that sell faster, that is almost always better than one big batch bought "because it's cheaper per unit".
When the service fits and when it doesn't
It fits
- The product already sells in your Kaspi store and it appears in "Picked for you". Demand is clear; all that remains is to compare the price with your current supplier.
- You need clean documents: СНТ, invoice, agreement.
- You have no time or experience for negotiating with a factory, cargo and customs.
- You want your own label or engraving in a small batch. This is also a step toward your own brand, and on Kaspi your own brand can be closed to other sellers; how that works is covered in the article on brand restriction on Kaspi.
It doesn't fit or needs checking
- The product is new and demand is unproven. The minimum batch may turn out larger than what you sell in a season.
- A restricted category on Kaspi or a product that requires labeling. These are rules of Kaspi and the law, not of the purchasing service, and you still need the permit or labeling codes. See the article on product labeling for Kaspi.
- You need the goods by a specific date and have no time buffer. The delivery date cannot be moved, and Kaspi openly names border delays among the possible ones.
How to pay
You pay only from the Kaspi Pay account. If you lack your own money for a batch, credit remains; when buying stock on credit pays off is covered in the article on Kaspi Business Credit. Kaspi Pay's «Закуп в Рассрочку» (Installment purchasing) works only with suppliers of the «Платежи на Kaspi.kz» (Payments on Kaspi.kz) service, and the Kaspi Guide does not mention it as a payment method in the Wholesale Purchases description.
Common mistakes with Wholesale Purchases
- Getting the address wrong. The city and address cannot be changed after ordering. The batch goes where you specified, not where you now rent a warehouse.
- Not allowing for the rate. There are up to two days between confirmation and payment. On a 928,000 ₸ batch, a 3% rate move is 27,840 ₸, and with a thin margin it eats a noticeable part of the profit.
- Buying the minimum batch of a slow product. At two sales a day, 200 units sit for 100 days. The money is frozen, and the monthly yield is five times lower than for a product that sells ten a day.
- Checking the batch a week later. You have 7 calendar days from receipt to claim a defect. A day late, and there is nothing left to argue about.
- Counting VAT as profit. VAT is already inside the unit price. For a seller without VAT it is an expense, and the minimum price has to include it.
- Planning a delivery right before a holiday. Kaspi itself names holidays in China and Kazakhstan as a reason for delays. A batch that arrives late for the season is then sold at a discount.
- Expecting an employee to pay for the order. They can only fill the cart. If the head of the company is away, the order will hang unpaid.
Checklist: an order in Wholesale Purchases
- The product is in "Picked for you", or demand has been proven by sales.
- The minimum batch has been divided by your daily sales, and the selling period is clear.
- Profit per sale and the minimum price are calculated with the full formula.
- A shift in the yuan rate of at least a few percent is built into the calculation.
- Kaspi category restrictions and labeling requirements are checked.
- The delivery city and address are correct: you cannot change them later.
- The head of the company is reachable to pay after the supplier confirms.
- There is a time buffer before the season, allowing for holidays in China.
- On the day of receipt, at least some of the boxes are opened and checked.
- The СНТ and invoice are downloaded and passed to the accountant.
Recalculate item two twice. It is the minimum batch, not the unit price, that decides how many months your money will sit in the warehouse.
